Dear Parents: Please inform your child that copying from an on-line resource that provides a summary and an analysis of a novel is PLAGIARISM! Sadly, several students from Both Bands (C and F) are GUILTY of this infraction. The assignment is straightforward and far from complex-so referring to on-line notes for literary selections is not necessary. (I am ALWAYS available in Room 404 during our 37.5 minutes of tutoring.) In addition, several students are omitting the requirements identified on the assignment handout.
Just a Reminder: SAT Vocabulary Quiz: List 8 (SEVEN words List 8/THREE words List 7)
Reading Journals: Chapters 4-6-DUE Monday, 3 December (I will place a "greater" emphasis on the evaluation of this journal.) If you are absent, it must be emailed to me as a MS Word attachment-then, upon your return-hand me a "hard-copy" of the assignment.
Monday, 3 December: QUIZ on Chapters 7 and 8 and 9 (approximately 15 questions over ALL three chapters-short answers). The following powerpoints may assist you in preparing for this quiz and our subsequent discussion on Monbday and Tuesday:
Chapter 7https://s3.amazonaws.com/engrade-myfiles/4070017685829665/The_Great_Gatsby_Cht_7.ppt
Chapter 8https://s3.amazonaws.com/engrade-myfiles/4021041971672947/The_Great_Gatsby_Chapter_8.ppt
Chapter 9https://s3.amazonaws.com/engrade-myfiles/4090291361352391/The_Great_Gatsby_Chapter_9_ppt.ppt
NOTE: I am no longer duplicating these handouts-other teachers have started to post class resources on-line for students to download and if necessary "print". We will view these power-points in class-we can not wait for everyone to take notes-so it may be to your advantage to print these resources. I may even genearate a question or two from these resources for the QUIZ on Monday, 3 December.

ATTENTION: If you arrive early to school early
on Monday, you are welcome to visit me in Room 404 to use the computers. Since
many of you know I usually stay late, you are welcome to do the same-if
necessary-I will open up Room 402-the computer room. Please spread the word
since many of your classmates may not have electricity and/or access to a
computer.
