Schedule for Week of 21 May:

Per my directive on Thursday, 17 May, you are to read Chapter 6 of The Great Gatsby for Monday, 21 May-pages 96 to 111. You have ample time to engage in a "close" reading of this text. I suspect that "many" students are not reading the novel, but rather referring to a resource on-line that provides a summary/analysis based on the low quiz grades. PARENTS: Please take note of this-also be aware that on some of the quizzes I have actually provided the "correct" answers to the basic comprehension questions-all your child has to do is to select that one correct answer from the list!

Tuesday, 22 May: Chapter 6 Quiz: Regardless of the results, additional points will NOT be given! discussion of this chapter will take place today through Thursday.

Thursday, 24 May:In-class read and discussion of Chapter 7!

E and F Bands: As directed on Tuesday, 15 May, you are to read Chapter 5 for Thursday, 17 May in preparation for a quiz. The results on previous quizzes have been dismal-even with the "correct" answers provided for your selection. This clearly indicates that too many students are NOT reading the text as directed.

Bring the Great Gatsby text to class everyday this week.

Monday, 7 May: Test on Chapter 3 (Ten Questions) You were given the assignment to read this chapter independently on Thursday, 3 May.
