Schedule for Week of 24 October:

ATTENTION: If you were absent on Friday, 21 October-you must turn-in your PROJECT immediately upon entering the building. Do NOT wait until class time to do so! Furthermore, you must present an absentee note for this absence-or else I will not accept your PROJECT. I will enter this grade for the first-marking period so I must have it no later than 8:15!

Just a Reminder: Letter grades are entered for the first-marking period based on the LMGHS' grading policy and the NYC DOE grading policy-you have previously been advised that percentages are not "rounded-up" to the next letter-grade. For example, an 89% will receive a "B"-HOWEVER, that 89% is cumulative-so it will be averaged with the grade you receive for the second-marking period.

Week 7: Quote/Paragraph Assignment for BOTH Bands will be due on Thursday, 27 October. BOTH Bands will ALSO take the SAT Vocabulary Quiz for List 6 on Thursday.

Everyone is to bring The Crucible to class everyday this week.

College Now representatives will be visiting all English 11 classes on Tuesday, 25 October. This is a fabulous opportunity to complete TWO college classes even before you "officially" enter college.

The Crucible Theme POSTER Project Assignment

Your grade for this PROJECT has been posted on Jupiter as a "numerical" grade-a "letter" grade will appear on your PROJECT. Note how I have attempted to "highlight" this word. Clearly, I had indicated that an 8 1/2 x 11 sized of sheet of paper will not serve this purpose-yet, several students did indeed turn-in their project on this size and even on a "smaller" sized sheet of paper.

I simply evaluated your PROJECT based on the criterion listed on the PROJECT sheet. Sadly, some students did not follow what was required or your response may have been incomplete or poorly done in respect to what was required.

Please Note: I received a project without a name written any where on the poster- email me immediately describing your assigned theme and the poster if you have received a "zero" for this assignment. For those students absent on Friday, 21 October-you must hand-in the assignment on Monday, 24 October so that I can omit the "zero' and enter the grade earned for this assignment.

A Reminder:
If you are absent on a day when an assignment is due, you are required to email me that assignment on the day it is due (not later that day) and then upon your return-as you enter the classroom-you are to hand me a "hard" copy of that assignment. Do not attempt to place an overdue assignment in your class folder on my desk. Recall-I DO NOT ACCEPT PAST-DUE ASSIGNMENTS-HOWEVER, FOR THIS MARKING PERIOD ONLY-I WILL PERMIT YOU TO MAKE-UP A MISSED QUOTATION/PARAGRAPH ASSIGNMENT DURING 371/2 MINUTES ONLY-UNDER MY SUPERVISION-IT MUST BE WRITTEN AT THAT TIME.

In addition, if you are absent on a day an SAT Vocabulary Quiz is given-you will only be given two days to make-up that quiz.
